LICHT

The client of this project was a shop owner who sells 1950’s European and Nordic furnitures. The request was to create their shop located in an old building into a white cube that can be used as their shop and also a gallery. However due to the number of windows on the floor, there was a need to control the incoming light. As a solution, part of the walls along the windows were stretched, and some of the windows were replaced with fixed frost windows. A half-transparent curtain was combined with these characteristics as a way to control the level of incoming light. The space design was done according to the lines of the pillars and beams, creating 4 continuing zones. The existing floor was brushed and used, while the aim for us was to maintain a soft feeling along with a certain tension to the atmosphere.
