AT | KAMACHI OPTICAL STORE

This project is an interior design for at | KAMACHI OPTICAL STORE, a select shop offering carefully curated eyewear from Japan and abroad. As customers typically spend a relatively long time in optical stores, the client requested a setting where visitors could relax and take their time selecting products in a comfortable environment. In response, the design envisions a space that supports attentive service and communication, while allowing customers to naturally immerse themselves in the act of choosing eyewear.

The entrance, although located within a commercial facility, is intentionally restrained in its opening to create distance from the brightness and bustle of the surrounding common areas. At the center of the store, a generously sized sofa—reminiscent of a box seat—is placed, and the overall palette is unified in brown tones to establish both functional and visual calmness. The walls are clad in dyed oak, with finely articulated joints adding a subtle texture and depth.

Display counters and storage fixtures are designed to accommodate necessary functions while maintaining a consistent height throughout, allowing sightlines to extend naturally toward the back of the store. The examination room is positioned at the far end, introducing spatial depth while providing a quiet, focused environment.

While the functional aspects are systematically organized, the space is conceived to offer an atmosphere akin to relaxing in a lounge, where selecting eyewear becomes a comfortable and immersive experience.
