INTER OFFICE FUKUOKA BRANCH&SHOWROOM

An interior design project for the Fukuoka branch and showroom of “Interoffice”, an importer known for high quality furniture and space design consulting. The site was a two-story building in which we were involved in the architectural design, with a single floor of approximately 40 sqm. A very compact space for a showroom. The plan was to provide basic functions to enable a variety of presentations. First, on the ground floor, a staircase-like shelf was designed for displaying chairs and other items. The space behind the display shelves was used as a stock space by utilizing the down-slab floor of the building, which was originally designed to accommodate piping and other elements. The shelves were finished with a finish that can be painted over to match the exhibition, allowing for color changes. Original lighting rails were installed on the ceilings of each floor. The lighting rails were placed at equal intervals across the ceiling to create a system that can flexibly support a variety of layouts. The walls were created to match the color of the architectural sashes in certain areas, while taking advantage of the concrete exterior. Due to the compactness of the space, we aimed to create a “showcase” environment where the architecture, interior, and furniture harmonize, allowing for a variety of perspectives.
