"Parallel Translation" - Project to renovate the first floor of the multi-tenant building in Kurume City, Fukuoka, as an information dispatch point for local revitalization project. The tenant space needs to be restored to its original condition after two years when the project is over. However, it was obvious that existing fittings of the facade would hardly make a “new face” of the community. Therefore, we translated those fittings to the partition wall between the office and the flexible space for lectures and products display for its effective use. In place of the displaced fittings, a huge glass was placed to the frame of the facade to be used as a show window. After the two years when the project is over, those fittings will be moved back to the original position.
