背
1986年、サッカー界における伝説が生まれた。メキシコワールドカップ準々決勝、アステカスタジアム、アルゼンチン対イングランド。少しでもサッカーに興味ある人には説明の余地のないことと思う。マラドーナによる二つの伝説、俗に言う「神の手」と「５人抜き」による得点。
この試合のビデオやDVDを最近いくつか購入した。１２月に代官山のギャラリーで行われる展覧会へ出品する予定がある。そこに出品する作品に大きく関係するため、その研究資料として買った。
小３から大学１年までサッカー浸けの毎日だった自分にとっては、これほど馴染み深い研究資料は他にはない。夜、一人で自宅で見返した。今でも鳥肌が立った。こんなプレーヤー、現代には見当たらない。万能できれいなプレースタイルの選手は増えたけど。自分は昔から背が高い方だが、少年のころ彼を見て、背が低いことに憧れていた。マラドーナみたいなプレースタイルに見える為の条件として、背が低くてガッチリしていることは不可欠だった。自分はすべてが逆、背が高くてひょろひょろ。（もちろん、プレーも似ても似つかなかったが。）サッカー少年の自分にとって、それは大きなコンプレックスにもなっていた。たしか、鹿児島の実家の自分の部屋にはナポリ時代絶頂期のマラドーナのポスターが今でも貼ったままになっている。
今日は東京から書き込んでる。午前中飛行機乗る前、西中洲の現場に寄った、細々チェックして直しを指示。姿がだいぶ見えてきた。
